FREESTONE TRAIL SCHOLARSHIP

We know trail running isn’t free (though we wish it were!) and that financial barriers are often a major reason why diverse voices and runners don’t make it to the start line

That’s why Freestone Endurance teamed up with Altra Running to create

— Freestone Scholars —

A trail running scholarship built to lift up runners from the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities and break down the barriers that can make chasing big goals feel out of reach

This scholarship is for all runners in Colorado—whether you're lacing up for your first trail race or you're a seasoned runner with a few under your belt

21 spots are available for athletes in West Line Winder 30K/50K & Sawatch Ascent 50K

4 spots are available for the  Sawatch 50/50,  a 2026 High Lonesome qualifier

Along with a free race entry, each 30K/50K recipient will receive a $500 stipend and each 50/50runner will receive a $750 stipend. All athletes will also recieve a pair of Altra trail shoes.

This can be used on whatever each runner needs to make it to the start line

Scholarship recipients will be announced on May 14th

Eligibility Requirements: Being a Colorado- based athlete

Based in the Buena Vista Colorado, Freestone Endurance Races are guaranteed to challenge and inspire you.

From 50k to 100 miles, we have an adventure for everyone.
